Hi Lauren,
Good morning!
Thanks again so much for your blurb tenacity!
I have become confused however about where exactly this blurb will go, a realization I had while washing dishes last night.
Putting the blurb towards the beginning of the book where it was before makes some sense, at least to provide readers with a summary before they get into the body of the volume, but I think if we do the design with the contract as cover, it might not “fit” physically. Putting it “near” the end of the book, however (and this was my realization), feels tacked on. Like I get that it is trying to be close to the back cover, but when it’s not on or even near that exterior page, it ultimately makes less sense to me since it doesn’t serve a purpose and becomes more like an appendix - like a shriveled up organ that used to have a function but remains as as an artifact of what it once should have been.
We do have a need for it however, online, as a brief description that serves to promote the book and project.
Do you have further thoughts on this?
Let me know so I can update the proof before sending it back to H9.

I would like to also make use of the blurb in the interim, at least before we meet next week, since in my last meeting with M.A. in Gatineau it became clear that in order to present The Employee as a panel at the ARCA conference, it would be best to submit a brief pitch. I would like to work on that today - it will be not much more than our publication brief, but I think that the sooner that is submitted the better. I will share this with you before sending, but I did get the sense that this should be done rather quickly.

I expect to have time for a meeting on Wednesday.

Morning!

Point taken about the blurb existing in the book. I am fine with removing the vestigial organ. But, agreed that it should exist as something we use online and for other kinds of promotion.

It's definitely great to use for the panel proposal. I’m at my desk today so feel free to send the draft for input!

I’m sure it is good to go! We can do one more read through once we get it back, but I think you can send it off now!
Thank you Josh!
