Dear Michelle,
I wanted to let you know that the book is currently being bound, and will be shipping to us in the next few days. It still doesn’t feel real, but I’m really looking forward to having this project completed, not to mention seeing the book as a finished object in the world at long last.

I have a few updates for you about book launches and promotions.
We are looking to launch in a few different places across Canada.
This is the plan for now, but there could be some changes as the pieces fall into place.
1. We're aiming to launch at the Libby Leshgold Read bookstore on June 5.

2. We're planning a launch at Art Metropole in Toronto on June 15.

3. We're planning a launch in Montreal tbd end of September / early October.

Unfortunately, communications with ARCA went terribly wrong, and it's not looking like they will include us in the conference. This is disappointing, and I can fill you in if you want more details (but I know that you did flag that this could be a possibility back around Christmas). I never followed up to find out if you were planning to go to ARCA ultimately or not, but if you are going to be there (although I’m operating on the assumption that you’re not since you probably would have let me know if you were), it might make sense for you to come to Toronto for the Art Met launch on the 15 of June. If that’s unrealistic, no problem whatsoever. We can connect for the Montreal launch in the fall.

Farah is receiving a shipment of books soon, and will be able to get some copies to you.
If you're in the mood for a zoom, let's set something up. It's been too long!
warmly,
Josh

Hi Josh,
Congratulations!!
This must feel like such a HUGE step for you and Lauren.
Yeah to getting this thing into its material form, and out into the world!

Sorry that things didn't work out for ARCA. It definitely would have been a very relevant context for the project, but it's also okay to let go of opportunities born from this kind of coordinating chaos...red flags, you know.
I have not yet decided if I will go to the ARCA conference yet. I will be doing a lot of travel this spring (!!) and it's not the most exciting among the opportunities. On that note, I am not sure about Toronto... I would love to go, but I leave for Edmonton on the 18th so it makes for a lot of back and forth. We should also talk.
Also about Montreal. VIVA! will be October 6-11, so tentatively at the same time which would make my participation impossible... I want to be there!

I am knee deep in grant writing before I leave for Mexico on the 8th but let's find the time to connect. Ill reach out via messenger to schedule.
Congrats again!! I can't wait to see it!
Michelle

Hi Michelle,
I’d love to catch up and hear about the more exciting opportunities!
Will you have a window next week perhaps?
Much love,
Josh
