Greetings to the Michael Asher Foundation,
I hope this email, regarding photo reproduction rights, finds you well.
I am editing a book titled The Employee, forthcoming this year from Art Metropole. The publication is of critical texts and first-person testimonials by artists and cultural workers reflecting on The Employee, a year-long conceptual artwork by Joshua Schwebel.
The publication will include texts commenting on the precarity of publicly funded cultural labour and considering long-present fault lines in systems of labour within the creative economy. It will feature texts by Mariane Bourcheix-Laporte, Teresa Carlesimo, Bopha Chhay, Dana Kopel, Michelle Lacombe, Denise Ryner, Joshua Schwebel, Camille-Zoé Valcourt-Synnott, and Marina Vishmidt.
I am requesting permission to reproduce two documentation images of Micheal Asher's work: at Claire S. Copley Gallery (photograph by Gary Krueger, 1974) and Los Angeles Institute of Contemporary Art (photograph by Robert Smith, 1977).
For reference, you will find files of the two images attached. The photographs will be featured in a text of art historical analysis by Schwebel, which we are happy to provide. The Employee will have a print run of 300 books, is designed by House9, and there will not be an e-book option.
Thank you for your attention to my request. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
With best wishes,
