Teresa Bio

Lauren Wetmore <████████████████████████████████ > To: Josh Schwebel <privatejosh@gmail.com>

Hi Josh,

Tidying up some loose ends. Here is a bio pieced together for Teresa. Does it match the one you shared with her? If your’s has any other details, send it my way and I will consolidate and put it in our doc.

I’m finishing mine now, and I expect we will have H9’s in the next few days.

Once all together I will send them all to Jessica for a copy edit.

Teresa Carlesimo was director of Forest City Gallery from 2020 to 2023. She is an interdisciplinary artist and PhD candidate in Cultural Studies at Queen's University where her research and practice considers systems of power, class and empire as integral to the analysis of environmental crises. Her artwork explores labour, extractivism, and the urban-built environment through large-scale immersive installations and video works. She has completed residencies and fellowships internationally and her work has been exhibited at the Grounds for Sculpture, Artcite, Museum London, Eyelevel, the Agnes Etherington Art Centre, Rodman Hall Art Centre, and the Thames Art Gallery, among others. In 2018 she co-founded and organized the Art & Social Strata Conference + Artist Projects, which presented works and conversations addressing inequality, gentrification, and socially-engaged arts practices. Carlesimo served as Co-Chair of CARFAC Ontario.
