Denise Conversation

Lauren Wetmore <████████████████████████████████ > To: Josh Schwebel <privatejosh@gmail.com>

Hi Josh,

I’m pretty happy with the shape of this now. At the very least I got it down from 15,500 words to 5000, which feels like a miracle!

To give you an idea of how I edited: most of it reads verbatim, but I have done small revisions in certain places to help with flow and comprehension. I re-jigged most of my questions to help point to the direction the conversation was going in, and I did that with a few of your questions as well (let me know if you feel misrepresented at any point). In order to cut word count without loosing content, I often combined or re-order multiple taking points into one dialogue, but I did not reattribute words to a person who didn’t say them. I don’t feel like a lot of content was lost – I tried to only cut parts of the the conversation that are addressed with more precision in other parts of the book.

It still needs some footnotes and an introduction, but I will leave it in your hands now for a round of edits and notes, before we move it to Denise. As always feel free with questions.

I need to spend the rest of this week focusing on Momus work, so don’t feel rushed to get this, or the Institutional Critique essay, back to me right away. That said, I am excited to get back to both!

Lauren.
I just read over this version of the interview transcript, and you have worked a miracle!
I am so impressed by how much you have pulled it together and distilled relevant, and relatable content.
When I tried to read over the initial transcript I just found it totally and endlessly overwhelming, so I am massively impressed by what you have accomplished here!
Other than a couple of spots I don’t entirely understand, which I will note them in an subsequent pass-through, the bulk of this is a great complement to the rest of the contributions.
I just wanted to say that I love what you have done! Thank you.
As for the IC essay, it is also more or less ready for you. No rush, and I am sure I will continue to tool around with it, but here is the link.
