About this project

meeting / proposition

Josh Schwebel <privatejosh@gmail.com> To: Director - Forest City Gallery <director@forestcitygallery.com>, The Employee <employee@forestcitygallery.com>

dear Teresa and Camille,
I hope you both had restful and healthy holidays!
I am sorry to pipe up so promptly, but over the holidays I realized a possible form for presenting / documenting the performance aspect of the project that I wanted to run by you.
Would you be available to meet this Wednesday at our usual time / noon London time? We can also resume planning / organizing for upcoming deadlines.
Also, Camille, I am currently applying for a funding application (what's new) that is due this Thursday. Would it be possible to meet online in the next few days to record some "documentation"??
warmest greetings to you both,
Josh

Dear Josh and Teresa,

I had a great break, I hope you both did too!
I would love to meet to discuss your idea on Wednesday. I am also pretty flexible/free all week so please just let me know what day and time works best for you.

Looking forward to continuing this work with both of you!
Best,

hi Camille,
Since Teresa didn't write back as yet, would it be possible to meet for a bit tomorrow (6pm my time / 11am your time?).
If Teresa responds then we can of course include her, but for now I just need to take some screen shots for my portfolio and wanted to talk to you about this performance idea I had.
see you soon,
x

Hi both,

Happy 2021! I hope that you’ve also had time to rest and restore, and are feeling good about the new year ahead.

I'm back at it today, and while it will likely take me an entire day to get organized for the upcoming month and year, and to work through a lot of emails received during the break, I'm already looking forward to reconnecting with you both.

I'm free for our Wednesday at the usual time and I'm excited to hear about your ideas for documentation, Josh. I'd like to be prepared, so confirming that we'll be discussing YCW, London Community Foundation and Canada Cultural Spaces as the upcoming deadlines, and I'll also have a couple of updates regarding venue/relocating. I'll prepare for these items in addition to discussing presenting / documenting the performance. Let me know if there's anything I missing and that should be on my radar.

Please use this zoom link for tomorrow at noon Toronto time:

Hi Teresa,
This sounds excellent.
I am so looking forward to diving back into it.
See you both tomorrow, and excited for your updates.
All my best,
Josh

Hi Camille,
Let’s disregard this and we’ll move ahead with Teresa’s suggestions tomorrow.
See you then!
warmly,
Josh

hi Camille,
thanks so much for looking into having vinyl on your living room wall.
For the purposes of the text, here's a version of what you could use:

The Employee

2020-21 | Part-time grant-writer,

employment contract with employee,

artist contract with Forest City Gallery,

monthly invoices and timesheets

Performer: Camille-Zoë Valcourt-Synnott

thank you!

Hi Josh,

I just emailed Kate Walchuk from the Anna who would know more about the process of having vinyl cut through NSCAD during this time, I'm just waiting for her reply.
I'll start working on the file and send you screenshots when I have something more concrete to have your feedback on.

Thank you!
Best,

Hi Josh and Teresa,

I just made this file quickly and I would like to have you input in terms of what information to include. I was wondering if we should include FCG's and my location, or leave it. It's still a draft and I can totally move things around!
Here's a screenshot:

The space between the lamp and the shelf on my wall is 30 inches, so this is the maximum width for the vinyl and it's a little less than 21 inches high (which is the size of the roll).
Let me know what you think!

Hi Camille,
Sorry for the late reply, I had an unrelated deadline yesterday.
For the mockup you sent, I think it’s ok.
Here are the changes I would recommend:
1) Align all the text to the Left-hand margin.
2) A part-time grant-writer contract position with Forest City Gallery (London, ON) take this part out
The rest is great :)
I hope Kate has a suggestion for where we can get the vinyl, but if it doesn't work out it's not critical, but it would be awesome if it were possible.
thanks so much for this,
warmly,
Josh

Hi Josh,

No worries! Does this look good to print?
Screen Shot 2021-01-08 at 4.36.56 PM.png

I'm happy to report that Kate suggested I can simply send the file to the photo technician and arrange a pickup time when it's ready. The price is also super reasonable (3$/foot).
Do you want it black and matte?
Just let me know and I'll make sure to send the file ASAP to make sure it's ready on time!

Thanks,

That looks great for me, and that’s also good news about the printing.
Thanks so much for this.
