Hello there!
Here is the second draft. I’ve made a few changes, additions, and attended to most of your notes (although there were two places where I didn’t understand your notes and so have asked a question in the comments). Let me know what you think!

OK!
Here is draft three. I’ve tried to incorporate all your excellent suggestions, although I can’t bring myself to move that footnote, even thought I know it is awkward!
I’ve made a few little changes, but its feeling close to done to me. Let me know what you think.

Do you think that Jessica might still be open to copy-editing it? I get pretty convoluted with the footnotes and sentence structures (this is always a problem for me) and I would love to have someone take a look.

Dear Lauren,
It is ready! I made one editorial change, and found one grammatical error, but neither of these require further back and forth.
I think this text does something that I find nearly impossible, in that it zooms out, spanning the context in which the work has nestled, without leaning on generalizations. You tell people what the book and the project are about, without it sounding like an AI-written reference letter.
You did it!
Next steps: do you want to reach out to Jessica, or should I?

Thank you dear Josh!!!
Send me the notes you made, I will correct it and then reach out to Jessica.
