Dear Marina,
Yes, thank you! Thank you for all of this, agreement, reflection, distillation, commiseration. I did not know that my levels of rage and betrayal could mount to such heights.
Speaking of Jewish Currents. Did you see the article about Germany’s Jewish commissioners? It is so revealing of how they have positioned themselves as authorities on what is and is not in Jews’ best interest. This is philosemisitism’s weaponization in the most German of forms: bureaucracy.

Dear Josh,

Thanks for this article, no, I haven't seen it though I was generally aware of the existence of these commissars and the lamentable 'German identity politics', as Disch-Becker puts it so aptly, they exist to perpetuate. This is excellent and informative. No doubt their vicious denialism and fanciful stories about 'Jews' (that Blume guy, wow) only escalated with recent events. Was also interested in that whole dimension of German converts to Judaism and their elevation to religious as well as bureaucratic ranks; if you can't get rid of them, become them!

(probably not for circulation just yet)

The most recent Jewish Currents piece I read was this one, it's collectively written and I thought it was very incisive.

Here is a censorship spreadsheet I was recently forwarded from a reliable friend that includes a number of European countries as well as US and Canada and which may be helpful for yours. I am not sure who's administering it, or how many people are involved in the research. I can't say anything about its accuracy except that there is a form which is clearly signposted if you have information to amend entries where that information is missing or wrong, as it was for the Goldsmiths UCU and SU branches, and which has now been fully updated.

solidarity and love to you too,

M
