dear Farah and Mark,
I just wanted to check in for a thruple of reasons.
First, I'm eagerly awaiting news about the printers! did you hear back from graphius?
Second, if so, and since we're thinking that House9 will invoice me and I'll transfer the money to you instead of paying Graphius directly, would it be possible to send me the invoice so I can pay and then finally finally finally close my final report with the Canada Council?
Lastly, I'm putting in an application for something that requires a writing sample, and wanted to use the laid out text of Work Becomes Her.
Would it be possible to send it to me in pdf format so I can include it in my application?
thank you and big hugs!
Josh

Hi Josh and Lauren,

We have a bunch of questions and answers :)

Here's the latest PDF. We also have some questions marked in the comments in the PDF. (The Work Becomes Her PDF is there too).

  1. Ellipses: which styling do we use? you have two choices: using periods (which are more spaced out) and the glyph that comes with the font itself that's tighter. Options visually: https://www.dropbox.com/#redacted We shouldn't manually edit the spacing because we're using a monospaced font in these cases, so we can keep the alignment of all the characters even.

  2. Timestamps on the Performance stills: Can Josh and Lauren svp confirm:

    1. Performance 1, Jan: EST/UTC-5

    2. Performance 2, April: EDT/UTC-4 (please note that this is EDT: Eastern Daylight Time, not Standard)

    3. Performance 3 Sept: EST/UTC-4

    4. We used this website to check: https://www.timeanddate.com/time/zone/canada/montreal

  3. In the colophon, the book price in $40CAD – is this still correct?

  4. Is the ISBN correct? 978-1-989010-24-2

  5. We kept the blurb but added it to the end – we need to keep it and add 2 extra pages to have the proper amount of pages for the 12-page contract signature, and this seemed like the best alternative to having blank pages. What do you think? Ultimately, we can't remove any pages from the first and last sections (must be 12, or 8—but the last contract is 9). Also as you know, if we remove anything from the main part of the book, we need to remove 4 pages. So, we recommend this current configuration.

  6. Please triple check all email submissions dates + times that have been recently added

  7. Graphite: We had a conversation internally last week about the tinted metallic. Because the whole book is just only colour black (and therefore 50% black for the grey), we think the graphite should be very neutral (not cool or warm) so it fits well with the grey inside the book. The most neutral graphite we found is PMS 10388 and it definitely skews graphite and not silver. Are you ok with this for the metallic ink?

  8. Graphius: I've finally heard from them and we're resolving a few final details re: estimate, technical stuff, and the payment. I'll get back to you as soon as I have a response. I emailed them yesterday.

Thanks so much!!
