Very exciting that this project is now going to print! I can have a contract for you by the end of the week – does this work for you timeline wise?

Let's also set a date for a Toronto launch at Art Met. We're pretty booked up until June, but if that feels too late to launch the publication for you perhaps we can move some things around.

Keep me in the loop about launches in Berlin and Vancouver as well. Maybe you already have a date set for Vancouver, but I'll mention that we are planning to be at the Vancouver Art Book Fair again this year (taking place July 4th-6th). That could be a good opportunity for us to collaborate with Libby on a launch and bring some attention to the book at the fair.

Confirming that the ISBN is 978-1-989010-24-2. I'll leave the barcode decision up to you two + the designers. We often leave it off of artists' books and include it for more general interest titles. But including a barcode could work well with the administrative design of the book.

Very close to having the contract together. A couple questions: could you remind me what the print run is for the book?

Also, could you share a pdf version of the book with me without the markup? We haven't gotten confirmation about a distribution partnership with Antenne yet, but I'm hopeful that we'll be able to confirm something soon. I'm going to follow up with some additional information about The Employee and I'm sure a pdf of the book would help to move this process along.

Excuse the triple email here – I was able to find the print run in an earlier email thread.

I'm attaching a publishing agreement for you to review! Please have a look and let me know if these terms are agreeable to you, or if I'm missing anything. I would particularly appreciate confirmation on the number of comp copies for artists and contributors and the retail list prices I've set in USD + EUR. I've listed 40 comp copies each for Lauren and Josh, and 1 copy for each additional contributor, but we could make these numbers higher or lower depending on your preference.

I'm also recommending that we maintain $40 as the list price for Canada and the States. We do this for most AM-published books and it generally hasn't been a deterrent for American sales, plus makes invoicing for wholesale more straightforward on our end. But I'm happy to adjust this or the EU price as you see fit. 

I've excluded Forest City Gallery as a signatory on this contract, mostly because I don't think I have enough information about what their arrangement with you is (ie are they paying you consignment on their own sales, how involved are they able to be with promotion, etc). If you have a sense of what their responsibilities will be in relation to the book I can add them into the contract, or alternatively it might make sense to produce a separate agreement with FCG.

And returning to the subject of a launch, Art Met wasn't planning to be at ARCA this year but it's definitely something we could look into. I'll defer to Blair on this one. June is a bit of a tough month for launches and events because Blair will be at Art Basel from the 17th to the 22nd at least. For a book launch at Art Met, I'll throw out June 15th, 19th, 21st, or 22nd as potential dates. The 15th is preferable for us, since Blair will likely still be around and able to attend, but I know that might be cutting things too close to ARCA. Let me know what you think.
