I deeply apologize for not replying sooner. I have many excuses, but none of them really cover all the bases!

I am so grateful to hear back from you and to know that the project has been on your radar. It’s been such a long process, and with the staff turnover and my own intermittent communication, I was uncertain whether there was any institutional memory of the work. I’m glad to know that there is.  

When I conceived of this work it was always intended to offer support to FCG, so I’m so happy to hear that in some way the project has been indirectly part of an increase in staffing, even if that process really only took place after the work’s conclusion. I have to say that I’m confused about the bike-in theatre grant results, because I am quite certain that we received a rejection to that application, but maybe Teresa re-submitted our application the following year using the account set up by Camille… this is a bit of a mystery!

With the book very nearly in hand my co-editor Lauren Wetmore and I are planning launches and publicity, and we hope that FCG can be involved.

I regret to say that since we’re launching the book out of pocket (we’re trying to offset costs by way of travel grants), it doesn’t feel feasible at this moment to plan a launch in London, Ontario, as much as I would like to. I am open to discussing this with you more, if you have ideas, but I don’t have the personal resources to make this happen on my own. On the other hand, Art Met will be hosting a launch with myself, Lauren and Camille in Toronto on June 15, and we were wondering if FCG would be interesting in partnering with us on that?

I’d be very happy to have a zoom with you to discuss this and other options. We can also discuss if and how FCG could contribute to launching the book, and other aspects of promoting the project, if you’re willing.
