Dear House9ers,
I hope you all are doing well, and had somewhat of a restful break.
I am reaching out to update you on The Employee.
Lauren and I are nearly nearly nearly ready with the book content. I know we keep saying that, but it’s true!
We have all of the contributors’ essays back from Jessica, so the only remaining content is our own. 
We are aiming for an end of January deadline with each other… and we will keep you posted.
Other than that, I am reaching out now for two things.
1. We would like to include some mention of House9 in the bio section. Do you have a text that could serve this purpose? (250-300 words).
2. We need to check in about the email archive. I have been remiss in taking care of it lately (basically since October 7) / sorry but really not sorry because I just feel like it is all I can care about right now. But I would really like to figure out how to collate the missing emails… I am not sure if they were dropped out in my archiving, in the google takeout process, or in the uploading, but they need to be tracked down. Would it make sense to do that together online? Or is there a less time consuming way to approach that?

Josh, honestly, I hear you. Doing anything in the post-Oct. 7 landscape that doesn't involve tearing it down feels... ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ 
I am just so proud of you and your bravery and voice for everything you're doing in Berlin. I am as always so honoured to be your friend, and working on liberatory work with you is how we get through. 

January sounds excellent for copy. Louis has been alerted as well. 

As for your questions:
1. That is so lovely, and I would love to put something together for you. Do you have an example of someone else's so I can see maybe how to approach it? OK if not :)
2. Perhaps we should all (you, me, Max, Jordon, Mark, and Lauren too perhaps) meet and discuss? We can at least do a review of the project status and make a plan to get this piece sorted.

I know you know. And thanks for knowing. I am having a hard time even communicating with people who aren’t feeling the same level of concern. It’s very confusing to realize that some people are just living their lives right now?!! A friend who I reached out to—I reached out to see if she was ok, and she wrote back,

I am actually feeling quite clear-headed and empowered right now, so it’s a quite disorienting message to receive.
Anyways… sorry for the side-bar, but 1. We’re friends, and 2. I mean… it’s impossible to do business as usual right now. I’m gonna talk about it.

Hi Josh, 

I know **precisely** what you mean. While constantly vacillating between anger, disbelief (if you can believe that emotion still crops up sometimes), and heartbreak, I also feel completely empowered and clear-headed, which has been a constant since the moment I started thinking less about *me* and more about **US**. Especially since we are in such privileged positions, inside the belly of the beast as they say. I'll tell you more about other disorientations elsewhere since I fear this email thread will just turn into a mega-rant (unless the rest of you are here for it!)

Looking forward to seeing your faces soon, and we'll work with whatever capacity we each have.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the nudge.
I was looking at House9’s own beautiful website, and there is already a short statement about the studio (above the statement of values).
I would suggest using that line, and then adding a bit about your history and experience working with artists and art institutions (list a few you have worked with recently), and why that is important to you.
Is that helpful?
If we could get this by the end of the month, that would be great, so we can meet our deadline hahaha!
