Hi there,

here's a copy with my pink markups. There were a few paragraphs that I felt uncomfortable having out there and I've noted those. I notice quite a few typos also, so I assume you all will proofread this. Sorry it took so long, but as I didn't agree to write anything in the first place because I knew I wouldn't have any time outside of my other projects, I assumed you expected I wouldn't be able to get to this.

I've got to be up in 4.5 hours.  So will send a bio later this week.

Denise

Hi Denise,
Thank you for these notes. I am sorry that your time is short. I am also sorry if the conditions around this contribution were unclear, and if this feels like we are crossing a boundary or asking too much, that is my fault for not laying out expectations or conditions more clearly. I think since a lot of aspects of your contribution and the conditions I could offer were discussed in person, and then on messenger, and yes, you were clear about not having the time to write, but the transcribed conversation seemed to be an acceptable compromise, some aspects might not have been clarified adequately. I have budgeted to pay you a $600 fee. Lauren and I are doing our best to take as much of the work off your shoulders as possible, but it is still essential to have you sign off on what is printed here.
I am sorry that this is a push, but I am also glad that you looked it over and made notes about what you want included and what you don’t.
This draft that you just reviewed is still in a rough stage, mostly to anchor content and flow. More detailed copy correction such as typos will be ironed out after, and then we will send the draft to both a copy-editor and a proof-reader at subsequent stages.
I hope you can get some sleep!
Warmly,
Josh
