one further followup, as we have engaged in a fair bit more correspondence since I last received your consent. I wanted to check about the emails we exchanged regarding your contribution to the print publication.
As before, your email address will be redacted, as well as anything else you want to remove from public view. Please see above for the more comprehensive reasoning behind this request.
I also reread our exchanges, and I wanted to say how sorry I am for what was basically miscommunication. I think at the time that I wrote to you (around October), it was so obvious to me that we would include your edits and suggestions, that I skipped right over that basic premise when I wrote to you about the draft. This propagated a sense, from you, that we were going to use the transcript as is, and refuse to integrate your suggestions. I think that I was trying to be so clear about the conditions of things, that I neglected to say the most obvious thing, and that that triggered this misunderstanding. SORRY about that! In turn, I felt really blindsided by your response, and didn't really understand what was going on. Rereading things, I can totally see how my message set this off. I actually have no idea what I meant by saying we needed you to sign off on the proof. I wish that we could have mediated our interaction by speaking, because I think if we were in person, that's the sort of misunderstanding that would have been easily cleared up, both through tone, and through a quick exchange. Anyways, just to say I still feel regret for having an exchange that put both of us on guard. More generally, and especially in regards to the email archive, I have no interest in setting you up to look bad.
With this in mind, please feel free to let me know if you want specific redactions in the email archive.
