I am following up regarding an email exchange you had earlier this year with Lauren Wetmore, with whom I am co-editing the publication The Employee.
Lauren wrote to you to request consent to reproduce an image of Ana Mendieta's Silhuetas series in the printed publication on my work. (I have attached pdfs of the emails in question below).
Along with the printed publication, which will anchor the artwork, I am also compiling an online email archive, which will record all correspondence affiliated with the artwork and publication. This archive is part of my artwork.
I am writing to request your consent to include the correspondence you exchanged with Lauren in this archive. This correspondence is one thread among thousands, and is in no way meant to single you out, but is a cumulative register of the banal, messy social context that is the rough draft and the reproductive labour of cultural work.
All email addresses will be redacted, however if there is any other information you would like to have redacted, if you have special conditions, or if you do not consent to include this correspondence, please let me know.
